Welcome to our Games section, where you can play through games sent in by other players. The Spectrum Chess Game Player will allow you to:
1. Step through a game, forwards or backwards, move by move.
2. Play through the game automatically. You can start or stop at any point.
3. Rotate the board so that you can see the position from either side.
4. Jump to any part of the game by simply clicking on a move in the text.
To play through a game, select a player from the first list above. Then select one of their games from the second list. To play through a game from a particular event, go to the results section and choose a game from the crosstable.
We would very much like you to send in your games. The games you send do not have to have been played at Spectrum Chess events. You can send any game so long as it was played under official match conditions. There are several different methods you can use to submit a game.
1. |
Use the Game Submission form in the 'Contact' section. Just enter the match information and type in the moves. If you wish, you can add annotations and variations to explain what is going on in the match. Put the variation moves in brackets. Use a new line for each pair of moves. |
2. |
E-mail a PGN file from, for example, Chessbase. Use the e-mail link in the 'Contact' section. The file can include annotations and variations. |
3. |
Scan your paper score sheet into a computer and e-mail the image to us. So long as we can read your writing we will publish the game. |
4. |
Post your score sheet (or a photocopy of it) to us. Our address is in the 'Contact' section. |

In all the above examples, please make sure we have the full names of the players, their ECF grades and the date and the venue of the match.
